It’s the seasonal highlight of Britain’s fashion calendar and London Fashion Week returned this September to debut some of the finest SS14 collections.
I attended on behalf of Fashion Prive attended the exhibition at the capital’s
iconic Somerset House and joined the swarm of press and buyers perusing the
exhibited collections of clothing, accessories and jewellery.
The exhibit is segregated across two floors into a number of
different areas including a number of specially curated showrooms.
THE ROCK VAULT, curated by Stephen Webster, is where the
jewellery designers gather with collections ranging from delicate and
minimalist to extravagant opulence
HEADONISM is the British Fashion Council’s millinery
wonderland where remarkable and contrasting collections of headwear were
displayed.
Further down Somerset House’s corridors was the ESTETHICA
exhibition and lounge where ethical and sustainably minded designers and brands
showcased their green pieces.
Bottletop are a popular accessories brand which use
recycled ring pulls to create fabulous accessories!
Having supported emerging talent since 2002, Topshop’s
NEWGEN area was a delectable treat for those hungry for the future of
fashion.
Sophia
Webster was the name on
everybody’s lips when it came to footwear this fashion week.
The first floor was dedicated to Ready-to-Wear designers
from emerging to luxe.
Outside in the BFC Courtyard Show Space both the stylish and
the spotters gathered in between shows amongst the flash of cameras and clatter
of stilettos. The traditional British weather certainly didn’t dampen the
outfits with a eclectic array of fashions being well and truly rocked.
